Someone said to check out Ohio for some space...
So here I am virtually checking it out haha. I'm looking for a plot of land thats pretty rural. I have a few needs tough, Must be with in 50 minute drive to a hospital for work (I am an RN) And would like to have at least 5 acres wooded lot with no treat of development around me. Don't wanna see any other houses from my porch. Oh and not get raped on price. Is Ohio right for me?
PS: Would love for the area to be ATV friendly as well thanks

There are literally hundreds of places in Ohio that would fit that description. Close to where I used to live, you could look into northern Trumbull County, Ashtabula County and parts of Columbiana County.

Also Wayne or Holmes Counties. It is very rural around Wooster which has a decent sized hospital. Its a big Amish area.
Also, Nelsonville area is very rural and pretty. Of the two areas, though, Wooster is more accessible to civilization than Nelsonville area, which seems kind of economically depressed.

Fulton County and other counties around Swanton in the NW part of the state are still very rural and reasonably priced, with Toledo close by. There are several hospitals in Toledo including the Medical University.
I would also look at Wood County between Perrysburg and Bowling Green. Good Luck!

Williams County has CHWC in Bryan, just beginning a multi-million dollar (8, I believe) expansion with satellites in Montpelier and Archbold. Defiance with 2 hospitals is about 10 -20 minutes away. Same for FCHC in Wauseon. A little farther away are Angola and Hicksville, and you could easily be within 50 minutes of Toledo or Fort Wayne, depending on which part of the county you selected.

Houseing can be a bargain here and land also especially if you do not need to be near a large developing area. The Canfield area and south of their has some beautiful areas for raising horses. Be careful of the realtors, some are very old school and dont work well with others. You need someone who really wants to find you the best property for you not just the best commission for them. I think NE Ohio has a lot of benefits that are just waiting to be discovered and too many people write it off.

hey and we dont all spell like I did in my last post. Its Sunday night and I am very tired. But do give as the first post said Columbiana County a try. Its rural, fairly clean and crime free. Inexpensive also.

After my girl friend and I posted in about every states forum we narrowed it down to Ohio, West Virgina, Virgina, Tennessee, and North Carlina. Wish us luck!

If you're still looking for land in Ohio, how about Hocking County? My Dad owns approx. 200 mostly wooded acres and has been talking about selling some of this land. If you're interested, let me know.
