Will be in Ohio late July-Aug and wonder if there are any rivers or streams that have trout in them during that time?

Come up to the lake and go walleye fishing....there are head boats out of most harbors that are pretty afforable if you don't want to do private charters or fish from the bank.

But yes...there are trout around....but they arent the most plentiful game fish.

I am not a walleye guy and get plenty of them in Kansas. I will be in the Columbus area and hoping there might be streams near by that have trout. I figure the southeast area would be the area close the the Appalachian mts.

Great Lakes fish...even of the same species...aren't the same as you'd find in Kansas. You might get more specific comments if you posted in the Columbus forum.

And it's the start of the foothills...sorta....but hope you aren't expecting the actual Appalachians anywhere near Columbus.

Did a very quick search and there were several possible sites, but this one seemed most relevant.
