Yes -- with OhioGirl ... generally 5 years is a big difference. I live in Lebanon, (just moved there), we like the area. I still think it will be quite lovely in 5 years - but who knows??

I also like Morrow, but our housing needs were better met nearer Lebanon.

If you're really not planning on moving for 5 years, why don't you check back then?

Actually, he should ask in 3 years. Look at the original date on his post. I doubt he's even paying attention to it anymore.

I'm sure in 3 years Morrow will have it's first walmart. Sprawl is getting so bad in SW Ohio.

I live in the area.

Morrow itself is a poor, older railroad town with an older housing stock. The old town part always seems to me to be kind of an Appalachian country "ghetto". But it's pretty small, so you're not talking about a lot of serious crime issues. Morrow is ringed by some newer developments like "The Woodlands at Morrow" - The Woodlands At Morrow - Residential housing development in Morrow, Ohio - which are Morrow in mailing address only. There's little retail, and the only grocery closed a couple of years ago. You will need to drive a few miles for any shopping.

Lebanon is the somewhat smug, "snooty" town in real life that "Harper Valley PTA" was filmed in. I really do mean that long time residents here tend to think that they're a big deal for being from a certain tract in Lebanon or for being in a certain social setting. Lebanon is a nicer town than Morrow, and it has better services. However, it has a lot of sprawl at the fringes and is really more of a shared Dayton and Cinci suburb than it is a country town, as Morrow still is.

If you want open space, move to Morrow. If you want convenience, move to Lebanon.
