Cleveland metro has many proud nationalities and cultures. People tend to live where they are comfortable and around people of similar interests. ie- churches, synagogues, clubs, foods etc.

You forgot Why doesn't everyone worship The God Diversity like I do?

Mmm. Because diversity doesn't hold a candle to excellence, which has disappeared from our vocabulary.

Why strive for excellence and get a feeling of actual accomplishment when you can instead worry about things like diversity?

Not being from OH I have no idea what the situation on the ground is, but I do have to say that when someone makes blanket statements about an entire state, their thinking tends toward the side of prejudice. I am quite certain that racism is rampant, knowing that social scientists have identified that humans have a tendency to align themselves with the familiar and view the foreign (to them) as potential enemies so in effect we are all racist. It is more a matter of being self-aware, and working to route out from ourselves that which would be condemned by others. If you are a person of the book (Torah, Bible or Quran) then that would begin with the ten commandments.

First, remove the plank from your own eye.

He should have asked why Ohioans are racist. I almost flunked out of English 101, but even I know that.

Ohioians treat people better so naturally they are more welcoming to diversity and that upsets the 5% or so that aren’t. Since that 5% or so are more vocal, it gives the false impression that Ohio is a more racist place than other states. 95% of ohio doesn’t have time to be racist, too busy WINNING!

I think we've proven the last few years that racism is very much a national problem and it's not getting better. Ohio is racist, but so are the other 49 states. The argument is really only about degree, and I don't necessarily think Ohio is the worst offender.

Does the absence of diversity equate to racism by default?

When will families that have no diversity among them be considered racist?
