Thumbs up What's Your Favorite -- Cincinnati, Dayton or Columbus?

My husband's new job is more or less in the middle of the triangle formed by Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus. We could move closest to any of the three and still have a reasonable commute. Which city should we pick as our "hub?" We will probably settle in the suburbs -- we have two little kids and are looking for a four-bedroom house on at least a half-acre, in the $250-300K range -- but want to be close to one of these major cities, about which we know very little. Which one offers the most appeal? (I posted previously but didn't state my question clearly enough, so only one kind soul responded!!)

THANKS --

Sarah

sarah,..in regards to your question, it depends upon where you may end up being closer to..columbus is about an hour or so away from cincinnati..having reciently moved from the area, id have to go with cincinnati...and the surrounding suburbs north and east of town..
westchester is a very nice,family oriented area..and from what i remember,reasonabally priced..
....dayton isnt bad, just smaller and perhaps less to do..even with two little ones...
though i never made it up there, columbus has its perks..and seemed to be a nice place from what id hear...also,its home to ohio state..a nationally recognized university.....
cincinnati has u.c.,xaiver and no.kentucky..all good schools...
so..i guess it really just depends on which area seems more appealing
but in general, the people of all three areas are pretty friendly..and all three areas are continuing to grow....

Check out the suburbs of Columbus. They seem like they fit your needs more. Dublin, Hilliard, Worthington, Westerville, Heath, New Albany, and Gahanna. I think Hillard is the best, great school system there, and very attractive area.

Can't comment about Columbus since I have never been there. But I would elect to be in Dayton again. Cinci seems a bit too citified, but it was always fun to live in Dayton and plan a shopping trip in Cinci. It was the really big splurge!
