That sounds more like their problem, then mine.

yes, and with an average home under $50,000, adding a bunch of $20K per year jobs would be inviting to some..

Interesting video from Defend Youngstown. This one explains how some really cool ideas come about in Youngstown. The concept is also spreading to other areas

Great article from Shout Youngstown about Youngstown's Cookie Tables..........love them!!!!!!!! (I know you have to miss these Boardmanite!)

Quote:
..........here is a nice review as Pittsburgh went searching for the origin of one of Youngstown's most cherished traditions:

Cookies are not the only sustenance at weddings, though. A typical wedding menu in northeastern Ohio might include "rigs and meatballs" (rigatoni and meatballs), "drenched" salad (greens covered in dressing, usually Italian), green bean amandine, some kind of chicken, roast beef or pork tenderloin and white potatoes with parsley. And, of course, there's wedding cake, though it must compete with the cookie table for attention.

"I think the wedding cake is eaten less and less, and people choose cookies over the cake," Nohra says.

In the "Buckeye State," Buckeye cookies are the centerpiece of the table and always disappear first. Other must-haves are "clothespin" cookies (we call them ladylocks), iced Italian "wedding cookies," Peanut Butter Blossoms (the ones with Hershey's kisses), kolachi (rolled nut loaf), and pizzelles (the crispy flat cookie made in a special iron).
i will shout youngstown: "cookie table season" has officially opened

Red face Lakes near youngstown

Besides Berlin Lake which is about 12 miles West, there is Mosquito Lake. Don't let the name fool you. It's a reservoir. I've camped and boated there many times, but never had a problem with mosquitos! It's a beautiful lake and since I'm from Salem 12 miles south of Y-town, it's about a 40min drive north. But worth it. Berlin Lake is nice, but pollutions seems to be a problem. Was out canoing a few weeks ago... lots of dead fish. Not sure why. Could be because the lake was incredibly low this winter. If you're moving to the area, Poland and Boardman have a lot of strip malls and heavy traffic. They are nice, but a bit busy for me. Canfield is a bit less congested and a little more upscale. Salem is small-town and charming, but that's why I like it... only a little drive to get to civilization.

whatever...I've never gotten a handout in my life...at least not since leaving the Navy.

What's important to ME is can I find somewhere to rent--if I was going to live in the area--for less than $650 a month? Because I pay less than that now, and I think it's affordable. My job's transferable, with the same pay rate...so that isn't barring me.

Four places, right off the top: Salem, Austintown, Boardman, and Niles. Which has the cheapest housing? Do you all use natural gas up there? Costfor utilities? Cost of living compared to Florida? Things like that.
