Default Turning around Youngstown

The Y-town Vindicator is doing a special report on Youngstown 2010 the plan and it's progress. Hopefully, w/the help of the Business Incubator, YSU, and regionalization, the Mahoning Valley will begin to stabalize its economy.

Here's a link to the story:

Great news! I heard Youngstown also took a new approach at its crime problem.

Thanks for the link. I'm moving into Boardman and had the pleasure of driving from Boardman into Youngstown. The whole way into Youngstown I kept thinking.. Oh god, I'm moving here.. what a mistake. Good to see Youngstown knows it has a problem and trying to fix it..

Just out of curiosity, are you moving north or south of 224? I lived north, just off Market St. I used to ride my bike from Boardman to YSU, so I know what you mean about the "oh god what am I doing here" feeling. If you can believe it, many of Youngstown's main streets look much better than they did just 3-4 years ago when I moved there, especially Market St from Boardman. They've torn down so many dilapidated buildings and planted many small parks. But yeah, Youngstown definitely realizes it has huge problems. There has been some progress, but there's so much to fix there.

Where are you moving in from? I think one town you will really like right east of Boardman is Poland. Nice parks, nice mainstreet. Close to the entertainment. I have some family from PA that lives in Poland.

Berlin Lake is 15 miles due west of Boardman on 224. You can run anything from a jet boat right down to a canoe.
