Question Eaton v.s. Piqua

Hello! We may have a chance at a 4 bdrm in Eaton or a 3 bdrm in Piqua for the same rent. Which area would you choose and why? We're a young family, children are 13,9,4. Thanks for any and all advice!

depending on where you work, eaton is better. its just as close to dayton and is only an hour from downtown cincy. also close to oxford. the schools are rated excellent and its an extraordinarily safe. eaton is a great place to raise a family. piqua is kinda dirty and its not really close to anything.

That's too hard to answer without more information. What are your other considerations?

there's a good chance of winning the lottery if you move to Piqua! But yeah, I grew up in a small town neighboring Piqua. It's alright, but nothing special.

I lived in Piqua for 30 years. It does have a good school system and excellent sports program. It really doesn't have a nice city park system althugh they do havea decent bike path and while it has numerous fast food choices is lacks in finer dining places. Yes there is a few but not like the larger cities. Most Piqua residents go to Troy or Sidney for better dining. Industry in Piqua has been on the decline in recent years, even before the nationwide trend. I do know they have been trying to improve this trend and get big business back into town but nothing major has moved there in a long time. The city owned utilities are relatively cheap and the Pioneer Co_op system thats available in some country areas around Piqua is also a good deal. Piqua does have one of the best city water systems in the state. The police dept. is strict. They do not tolerate much of anything. 2 notable speed traps in town are south 25a entering town just south of the power plant (exit 78 north to town) they tend to sit(hide) in the small parking lots along there and also north 25a around Paul Sherry Chevrolet. The people there are very small townish, willing to help their neighbors and generally good. Of course there is always some exceptions but that is with any town. If Piqua had some good paying jobs available i'd move back but I don't see that happening in the near future.
