I laugh when folks talk about the drought they had in central OH last year. If a native Southern gal can handle the weather that OH has to offer, then anyone can tough it out. I'll take 4 gorgeous seasons over my native climate anytime! I'm here to stay in OH-IO!
I'm glad you love OH-IO...I'll always be a buckeye at heart. While I'll agree that the temperatures aren't drastically different often times - today & tomorrow support that - the one major thing at least compared to NE Ohio is it is so much sunnier here. I never realized it until we lived here for a few months, and then we'd have a rare overcast day here, and you'd be like, are we back in Ohio? B/c it felt so common to have that type of day there. Should be noted though, upper-60s/low-70s in Ohio in early November are quite rare, and are the norm here.

I'll take 3 gorgeous seasons here (minus the winter of course ) over the 4 in Ohio any day, don't miss snow, bitter cold, shoveling at all! But hey, more power to you if you like it! I won't say for sure we'll never move back, but I know if we do, I will be dreading that first December, January & February!

I'm gonna have to agree. This weather we have had this week is VERY uncommon. It doesn't reach the 70s very often at the beginning of November. Enjoy it while it lasts, because it won't be for long!

I wouldn't be so quick to say that. The Climate Prediction Center has said the temps for this coming winter will be above normal yet again. I imagine we will see another December and January with highs in the 60's most of the time, and very little snow until maybe February....at least here in SW Ohio.

MoheJohe is on a distinguished road
Not everybody in Ohio is in love with it, so I am starting this post for those who want to leave, or have left to tell us why.

TELL IT LIKE IT IS

1) Current or former Ohio location: Former Loc Hubbard Ohio, very close to Youngstown

2) Why do you want to leave or have left?: I left due to marriage BUT It was the best move I have ever made for myself, my safety, and my children’s safety and education.

3) Where outside of Ohio and why: I moved to MI in 06' It was great here at the time however the government ran it to the ground. I caution coming here now. The automotive factory has been hit hard. There are no jobs.

4) 2nd and 3rd Place Choices: We will follow the engineering industry or what is left of it. However my standard of schooling has increased since being in MI.

5) What’s currently holding you back from moving if you haven't already left?: The one.. and only thing that held me in Ohio at the time was my family. The economy was going nowhere but down. It was getting more and more unsafe in the cities and to depressing in the country. Hubbard was a wonderful little safe haven, however 15 min away was Youngstown and it is very dangerous. I felt trapped.

6) Anything else you want to say?

DO not get stuck there! If you haven’t got so bogged down in a house loan etc try traveling a bit and see something different. I lived in Ohio 30 years before I moved away and found out how much bigger life could be.

So your telling me you left Ohio and moved to Michigan? This thread is absolutly ridiculous. Of course it was the best move you ever made because your stuck there now and you convinced yourself it was for the better. Ohio's economy is tough but its alot better than Michigan.

I'm truly happy all you people found greener pastures but how can you move your arms with the GIANT chip on your shoulder.

I'd hate to hear all of your rants if you werent "Much Happier Now"

This is the only rant I can think of at the moment to help make your day. I tripped and stubbed my toe the other day and when I picked myself up and looked around, do you know what I saw ? That all the welfare recipients weren't there... Bummed me out !!!

I guess that would be one down side to leaving OH ya think...

Indian Summer-we just got it later this year. Temperatures are above average for about two weeks. Started at the end of October and ends today!!

Why do I want to leave Ohio?

Because I don't get the kind of blizzards they just saw in the western Dakotas.

MAN I wish I was in that.
