Default Relocating to Sidney..Help!

My husband's job may be relocating us to Sidney and after what I have been reading on here, and seeing as far as the housing market goes I am getting scared! We are a young couple planning to start a family. We want a town that we can feel safe and secure in and I am starting to wonder if Sidney is the place. Also we have two large dogs and I am having a hard time finding a nice rental that accepts large dogs. If anyone can give me some information I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

City of Sidney Ohio

Sidney City Schools

Sidney, Ohio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sidney is located along I-75. It is about a 45 min drive from Dayton. It is also close to other larger cities like Cincinnati and Columbus. It is close to two very large lakes, with great areas for camping, boating and having a picnic (Indian Lake and Saint Marys Lake). The area is safe, and has good schools. It is set in a countryside setting, but is not far from the cities if you want the shopping and entertainment.

If you want something more upmarket / small town suburban with desireable schools check out Troy and /or Tipp City. Both towns tend to be the "it burbs" north of Dayton and generally safe places.

Most of those little towns around Sidney are harmless and from the people I've met from those towns, they seem like nice places (albeit very small towns which could be good or bad depending on how you look at it).

AVOID PIQUA.

I live in Sidney and love it. I have lived here for 25 1/2 years now. I married and moved here from Fairfield, OH which is close to Hamilton. I just now found this post and I will help if I can.
