I'm moving from FL to the Newport area of Youngstown and I was hoping you guys could provide some information on cell and internet services in the area.

We currently have Boost for our phones and we're happy with them, but we're not sure how the coverage is in the area. We didn't need to use our phones much when we visited and we didn't think to pay attention to the signal, data, etc. For those of you who have/had Boost, would you say the service is decent in the area?

For internet, we are extremely unhappy with the company we have and are looking forward to hopefully having a better internet experience. The company we have has a monopoly in this area so they can get away with charging whatever they want for poor service. Are there multiple internet providers in the area or are we limited to one company? If there are more than one, which one would you suggest for internet service? We do a lot online and hope to have highspeed internet that works for all of us.

Thank you for any suggestions or information!!

Welcome to the area!

I wish I could be more helpful, but my cell service is with Verizon, and have cable/internet with Time Warner.

I believe there are other Internet options, but I think Time Warner is the most common for broadband.

Thanks for the information! I have looked a bit online and it seems like we may end up paying almost double what we are paying now for the same speed or slower. We have DirecTv, but I'm not sure if they offer internet service in the area.

Are you happy with the internet service through Time Warner?

I am happy with my Time Warner internet. I'm not really very tech savvy, (so I might not recognize a problem that, say, and IT professional would) but it seems very reliable, and I've never had a problem watching YouTube videos, streaming music, or downloading large files.

Cable internet is the best. Most areas in this area off Time Warner. I pay $39.99/month for Standard Internet, 15 mbps.
