I looked at many maps of the climate zone regions, and in all of them (around 10) Cincinnati was humid continental. The humid subtropical is around 150 miles south of Cincinnati. However on the wikipedia page it says cincinnati is subtropical. Either way Cincinnati is right around the southern portion of the continental and just north of the subtropical. Also most the maps have 100% or nearly all of Ohio in the same climate zone.

wikipedia? ...

Here is the user who uploaded the file and made comments: User:WikiIstari - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (retired from wiki)

If you'd like, I can upload an image to wikipedia as well? I don't discount wikipedia, but it's driven by people like you and me.

Point:

According to Britannica, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh all fall within the "subtropical range".

Which source do you trust more, Britannica or a source that you and I control?

Subtropical places don't get 80 inches of snow like Cleveland does. This thread has devolved into bizarreness.

I don't think subtropical places get snow annually at all in my opinion. That just sounds weird.

For me,
its a tie between the 3 Cs. I know this sounds like a cop-out but its tough to decide as they all have positive attributes (that the each other might not share). So it really is a tie for me.

Below that, pffft....Akron, Toledo, Dayton...ok Toledo for the ethnic thing and its on the lake. Dayton is too conservative & trash when its not whitebread. Akron sounds like it is really moving up, and it might be the next good midsized Ohio city for quality of life.

Below that, forget it (Lima? Springfield?...I dont think so)...they're all zeros.

I will say that Youngstown, for its bad rep, has some nice suburbs.

All that I know don't choose Dayton. Dont choose Lima either, it isn't very nice, but it is the only place around where I live to go. It is all like ghetto, no offense to Lima citizens.

Pretty much the same for me, except I put Cleveland a little bit ahead of Cincinnati and Columbus just based on Cedar point, sports, diversity, and its more progressive than conservative.

I agree with you on everything else though. I love Ohio and all of the state but I have no idea why someone would want to live in places like Lima-Springfield or other small areas when there are so many better choices, namely the Three C's (Akron included with Cleveland) and Toledo is decent.

I don't want to go to deep in to it. I have lived happily in Florida for a few years now. So ill keep it short'ish.

1.Dayton-(my birthplace) Ohio's heart. Proximity to other cities. Small enough that it could be fixed up majorly and become very appealing for the area. Its people are hungry for Dayton to be reborn. This tiny city has probably done things cities five times its size haven't managed to do. From people to ideas. If there ever was a smaller historic city, Dayton Ohio is history USA.
2.Akron-Similar to Dayton in size and character. Small enough that its manageable, large enough for some diversity and a better understanding of each other. Fairly clean by Ohio standards.
3.Cincy-A shell of what it once was, or what it could have been. But even with its relatively smaller size, it has an abundance of detail.
4.Cleveland-Ohio's major city that many of us are saddened by considering it represents our state, and it cant pull any other city let alone itself out of the sludge. Diversity, and some nice historic areas. Some beaches and some good higher end jobs.

5.Columbus-Flat land. The city is in the middle of cornfields in all directions. Hardly any character. Its more of a global city trying to fit in to the new economy(you know the one that killed Ohio in the first place?) where it is just as meaningless as it was when it wasn't anything. Distinct lack of character, contributions, along with wealth hoarding, and a more or less fake environment. Columbus Buckeye fans give other Buckeye fans a headache, and a bad name.

6.Toledo-The city has a corn silo or something in the middle of downtown. Its a want-to-be Columbus as of lately. The area has some unique wetlands and swamplands, but outside of that it is the most uninspiring land in all of Ohio. Its like Dayton without any of Dayton's uniqueness.

Overall Ohio is just bars and drunks, cornfields, bland environments, decayed suburbs, and a broken people trying to hang on to something just because its their home. I wouldn't be so critical if Ohioans got together and said were going to fix this place, and go wild dong it, and push ourselves to create Ohio again. My heart is with Ohio, but after living in Florida enough times I have finally grown to like it. Most of all it isn't dying, and it has diversity and uniqueness. Well maybe its just a phase and ive made myself like it. If I could do something for Ohio I would comeback and do it. But im not rich, so I cant make much of a difference anywhere I go. I know Ohio has been home to many O' many a dreamers that have changed our lives and lives around the world. But I think those days are gone. Its people are now riddled with anxiety and depression, their thoughts broken, much less potent, and many will never even have a chance to have their full imagination bloom in to a reality.

Ohio's future was its kids. The kids that were suppose to be designing robotics, new living environments, buildings, medical advances, and the ones that were suppose to be treating everyone with compassion. Instead their families jobs were shipped, and broken home after broken home allowed blight, school decay, and depression to overtake the state. Using thew weather as an example of a mass exodus isn't valid. Ohio has been in a funk for over fifty years, and its still there. People just don't have any reason other than family to stay in the state. Technologically its way behind the curve and behind the times. It should be competitive with Japan and Germany. Its not even close. There isn't one major game developer in the state. Many of Ohio's natives never go to medical school to be nurses and doctors, which is something our state and our country has always needed badly.

This isn't exactly short and im ranting, sorry.
