I am from Ohio. It's a beautiful little town. My brothers grew up working on the farms there. I walked thru a little pathway thru the cow pasture, to grade school.

Of course I like Cleveland! I'll say it in a heartbeat. I've stuck up for it in your guys' threads when suburbanites try to slam it.

The only thing that puzzles me is when a Clevelander tries to slam Cincy.

How about we all stop slamming eachothers cities, and appreciate how great the diversity is in Ohio's cities and go with it. I wouldn't want two Cleveland's in Ohio, and I wouldn't want two Cincinnati's either. Its great that we have one Cleveland, and one Cincinnati. They both bring so many different things to the table that make them unique, but also make them some great cities to live, work, and visit.

I will second that! Everyone has an opinion.

an impartial, uninformed opinion of an out-stater

1.tie: Cleveland and Cincinnati
2.Columbus
3.tie:Akron, Dayton, Toledo
4:the rest (I've heard that Youngstown is pretty gritty---are people getting behind this excellent boxer I've read about?)

I've visited Cincinnati a couple times and have done research for possible relocation, and it sounds pretty good....but not truly great or seriously cosmopolitan. I'm sure it has its moments, but I'd assume that Cleveland is the anchor city (better skyline and sports tradition and greater former city glory) with the more worldly outlook. When I think of Ohio, Cleveland is the first city that comes to mind and I'd think there'd be lots of sources of city pride. That said, I have read that Cincy was once much greater (too bad about the subway) and was one of the young USA's great jewels/centers in the 1800s. In the 1970s Cincinnati must have been one happening place with the Reds and WKRP and (i'm guessing here) a burgeoning funk music scene. Columbus with OSU doesn't really impress me with it's lack of history, although I do hope the Blue Jackets stick around. It sounds to have a bit of new money but not a heckuva lot of identity.

Overall the state must have alot going for it. If nothing else, those "Birthplace of Aviation" license plates are pretty nice.
