I find it funny that many people rank Youngstown so low and have never been here. I'm not saying it's the greatest town on earth, but if you haven' been here, or haven't been in 20 years i don't think you have any basis for your ranking..............just a thought.

1. Columbus (Capital, Growing, doing the best out of all the major cities in the state, Buckeyes, 2 pro teams *NHL, MLS*)
2. Cleveland (Largest Metro Area, 3 pro teams, hardworking city)
3. Cincinnati (Best Skyline of the State, 2 pro teams)
4. Dayton
5. Toledo
6. Akron

I haven't been to Youngstown in years, and I know it doesn't have the greatest of reputations, but I've heard that the current leadership has been doing a great job and the region is turning around. In fact I think it's gotten some really good press recently in a few national publications.
Youngstown's geographic position in relation to Pittsburgh and Cleveland could be a big advantage in the coming decades. Hopefully when the high speed rail is built, there will be a link between those three cities.

No offense if you're a soccer fan, but MLS is hardly on par w/the other major pro sports in America; it is more comparable to Arena League Football or Minor League baseball as far as a fan base and popularity level.
NHL has fallen to probably 5th or 6th as well behind NFL, MLB, NBA, and NASCAR. So while yes it technically has 2 pro teams, not the same as Cleveland & Cincinnati's pro teams which are in the major sports.

Unfortunately Browns and Indians right now shouldn't be considered as pro teams. They both need new owners, Wish Mr.Gilbert would gather some change up and buy one of them. That won't be happening though

This is true, and if MLB doesn't clean up it's steroid mess, it might fall down to the NHL relevance level. I used to be a die-hard baseball fan, now I watch maybe four or five games a year; and I saw attendance is down about 5% so far this year across the country. Granted, a lot of that has to do w/the economy, but if they're not careful, more & more fans are going to stay away for good.
Overall though, w/the exception of the Cavaliers and the Indians 2 years ago, both Cleveland & Cincinnati pro teams have really had a rough decade. The Browns & Bengals are both bad, and the Reds & Indians seem to live in medicority.
I think Mr. Gilbert is more focused on seeing the Cavaliers win a championship first, and locking up Lebron after 2010 second.

buckeye in sc, i wish it was just a rough decade. try 62 yrs for the sausage in mlb and 45 yrs for a sausage in football. thats a combined 107 yrs of rebuilding in 2 sports. mr614, calling soccer a pro-sport is really stretching it to make columbus sound better.
