Default Why Did You Leave?

This is one of my favorite diatibes. My opening a thread here was prompted by Hyaleah and others.

Picture this: Easter 1958: grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, 2 unts, 2 uncles, 6 cousins, two sisters and myself.

Now Easter 2008: of course all of the older generations have passed on except for one aunt - and here's what gets me - one sister and her three sons: gone to Michigan, other sister and two kids: gone to Maryland, two cousins + 1 child, gone to California, 2 cousins gone to Montana, their five chidren located in various places throughout the country. Myself: still here with one daughter, other daughter in Columbus; two cousins still in the area, their three children still here.

So of the the twentyfive members of the two most recent generations, only 7 still reside in Cincinnati... sort of illustrates a lot.

It is supposed to illustrate a massive exodus from the state of Ohio. I thought the original poster made their statements clear.

Michigan Economy at a Glance
Highest unemployment rate in the nation. Metro Detroit is over 14% in some areas. Compare that to Ohio's worst, less than half that, Toledo at 6.4%.

I mean you love to mention how Ohio sees so many leave the state, but yet Ohio still has yet to show a population decline in the 21st century in any census. Michigan in just the last census lost over 30,000 people, IN ONE YEAR!

Numerical and Percent Change in Population for States and Puerto Rico: 2006 to 2007

Percent Change in Population for States and Puerto Rico: July 1, 2006 to July 1, 2007 and April 1, 2000 to July 1, 2007

If you want more I will be more than happy to provide. I guess you took it wrong, I was being sarcastic, Michigan's economy is terrible. Now I can also provide the major problems that Colorado is facing too, I mean since you seem to sugar coat everything on Colorado. Theres some Michigan facts for you.

Well, I actually haven't left yet, but if I do, it'll be for a wonderful school in DC. However, schooling still may be in Ohio due to high prices elsewhere and my personal willingness to come out with as little debt as possible. Also, I have no family (besides parents) in the state of Ohio. The rest reside in New York, Maryland, Kentuckey, and Florida.

Colorado's problems pale in comparison to Ohio's. I would rather go through growing pains over dying pains.

Again, no one here is talking about Colorado. I will not partake in a thread hijack.
