Personally, it's a quaint liberal/hippie town with eccentric shops and makes a good day trip. During warmer months the place is busy with bikers traversing the path between Xenia and Springfield. Some of the architecture is neat. Still can become busy on colder yet sunny days. Overall, Yellow Springs isn't a bad place to make a little day trip or take visiting family on an afternoon. Here or Waynesville would be good.

Yellow Springs is a very small town, but it is an interesting place. Make sure you eat at The Winds Cafe. Around $25 per person for dinner, Less for Sunday brunch. Check out the Little Art Theater, a very small movie theater showing a lot of off beat films. Look through the small shops, ask around, many of the best places are barely noticeable.

I find Yellow Springs to be overrated. It has also suffered from population decline.

I believe Antioch College is still scheduled to close its doors at the end of the school year (no great loss to higer learning IMHO although it was at one time a very good liberal arts school). You've got to make sure to check out Young's Dairy like mentioned earlier. John Bryant SP is also a pretty cool place to visit although it is more interesting in the summer when it turns into a commune of sorts. Keep an eye out for Dave Chappelle.

Ok because population decline is going to affect my opinion on an area?!?! I hear great things about it all the time, population decline is a first.

It has stayed steady:
