jetengineman's wife is on a distinguished road
Default Anyone here familiar with Peebles, Ohio area?

Hi all... I'm a neighbor from the north researching different areas to move to with opportunities for my hubby and me to find decent jobs. (He is a certified A&P mechanic who has extensive experience with jet engines); I hear there are a few jet engine facilities run by GE in the Cincinnati area and read that the one in Peebles, OH might be expanding. We aren't interested in being in a big city but would like to be close enough to visit for entertainment, shopping, etc. Peebles looks like a nice country area and the housing seems to be extremely affordable. Is anyone familiar with the area? We have kids so schools are a concern, also. We are also considering NC but all of this depends upon selling our house and finding a job... please keep in mind that this is research only!

Our priorities are: good job for hubby, good schools, a place where we can afford 10 or more acres, and job opportunities for me (I have a hotel/restaurant background but could do pretty much anything in customer service... just don't want fast food to be my only option!)

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Peeble is in Adams County and yes the countryside is gorgeous. One thing you should know, Adams County has one of the highest unemployment rates in Ohio, but perhaps that G.E. facility expanding as you stated it was will help the area somewhat. Have a blessed day and I hope you husband can find work there. I have been through that area and it is quaint from what I have seen.
