I am a little confused about this. My father was on the Wellsville Ohio police force when Pretty Boy Floyd was killed. Adam Richetti, Pretty Boy's driver, was captured the night before sleeping in a car outside of Wellsville and held at that city's lockup. The force was afraid that Floyd would spring him so set up sandbags on rooftops with armed men waiting. I do in fact have a picture of Richetti posing with Fultz outside of his jail cell in Wellsville.

Chief John Fultz of the Wellsville force was also on the posse looking for Floyd and almost got him in a cabin in the woods outside of Wellsville. The story related to me was that Floyd was shot in Lisbon Ohio. His body was laid out in East Liverpool where thousands viewed the body. I believe that Floyd himself was shot running through a corn field by a man with a deer rifle.

I was young but remember when Pretty Boy Floyd was killed. The spot was on a farm in St. Clair Township between what was almost equidistant between East Liverpool and Wellsville lines. If my memory hasn't faded too much, I thought Federal men known as G-men and later FBI was involved and recruited help from both Wellsville and E. Liverpool Police Departments.

The final answer is, He was killed on sprucevale Rd. at the Conkle farm. It's above Beaver Creek State Park in St Claire Township. It's North of East Liverpool and in the opposite direction of Wellsville.

Sorry if these were mentioned before, but Ohio is home to 7 presidents (8 lived here, but B Harrison was born in Kentucky) & all were Republican. There were 4 pres's assassinated, & we have 2 of them. The 2 'unknowns'. LOL Can you name them?

Also, yea for Akron & zippers! LOL Barberton invented matches if I'm not mistaken & Akron, who used to be the rubber capital of the world, is now the polymer capital of the world. =) Akron also won the 1st ever pro football championship in, I believe it was 1920 (tell me if that's not the right year! =) but the trophy 'vanished' . I love, love, love Ohio history, BTW. I find it fascinating! =)

Another fact: Martins Ferry was the 1st white settlement in Ohio (sorry, that's how it is categorized, I suppose, because, of course, Native Americans were there before that! =) , but the Native Americans drove them out, & they went to Marietta, hence why Marietta is the 1st PERMANENT settlement in Ohio. =) I could on & on, but you might get bored w/ me. LOL
