No, sorry, it's not Cleveland Rocks.
I'll give you a hint: It's played (by the band) at Ohio State football games and, consequently, at just about every high school sporting event I've ever been to . |

HTLong is corrrect about Deerfield, Ohio. It's amazing how stories get turned around over the years and are passed as fact. After some research, I see that Grant's Grandmother died long before he was born. His Father Jesse was friends with Owen Brown (John's Father) in southern Ohio. So there may be something to the Harper's Ferry Story. Perhaps sending the order for Lee to arrest John Brown. I also just read a piece that said Ulysses owned a tannery in Deerfield, yet other books say that he hated his father's tannery business and refused to follow. Anyhow, the one thing I learned was, his name is Hiram Ulysses Grant. A mistake on the books at Westpoint is how he got the name Ulysses S. Grant. Here's a link. http://www.nytimes.com/books/first/s/simpson-grant.html

My kids tell me that Hang on Sloopy is the song they always play in marching band.
This is getting to be fun. I'm glad we're getting some more participation. Here's another. At one time time it was the 2nd largest county fair in the country. Los Angeles County fair was the only one bigger. I'm not sure about the rating today. Carnies and concessionaires up and down the East coast know it as the grand daddy of all fairs. It's the closing fair of the season. If you don't make money here, you may as well get out of the business. It truly is "something to crow about". Name that town. |

I Would Guess The Canfield Fair,

The Fairfield County Fair?

That's a correct guess.
I enjoy the fair so much, I have never missed one in my forty years of existence. Even when living out of State I always flew home for the Canfield Fair. I even bought a concession trailer because I love the fair so much. Plus the fact of growing up in Ellsworth Township. Every morning the school bus drove us through the countryside picking up kids. All of the big fancy houses were really fun to look at. After a while I finally realized that all of the the really expensive houses had concession trailers parked in their driveways. The story goes that Canfield was supposed to be the seat of Mahoning County, but somebody from Youngstown stole the plans. Making Youngstown the county seat. That's the story. You figure it out. My own personal opinion is that Canfield is way over rated. A few miles down the road you can get better schools, and a whole lot more house and property for the same money. It seems that a mess of people move from a cracker box in Austintown to Canfield just to show their friends that they have finally arrived. They truly believe that paying the high Canfield taxes is a status symbol. Here's the next trivia question. Where is the Ohio industrial museum located? |

Here is one for thought, what is the only city to be situated in three counties?

Is it located in Youngstown?

No, not Youngstown. Though we do have something called the Arm's Museum that has some steel mill stuff. I've never been there, but my wife has. Her wedding gown is on display.
