That's right. Annie Oakley died November 3, 1926 and is buried in Brock Cemetary, just off US 127 a little north of Greenville. Her husband, Frank Butler, also a well known marksman/vaudeville performer died less than 3 weeks later and is also buried in that cemetary. Now what well known writer, broadcaster, and traveller was also born in Darke County, near Greenville.

i didn't mean the post to be controversial, it is a fact not an opinion linndale was a speed trap proven by the Ohio courts. so much for opinion.

cleveland was originaly named cleaveland. the "A" was ommited for what reason?

well with a little searching i found it...the word is free...i was glad to read it was donated, i would hate to see tax payers money spent on this kind of art.

That's right Htlong! It stands at 28 feet tall and was made by artist Claes Oldenburg. I used to work in an office building not too far from where the Free stamp is placed and it seemed to have gotten quite alot of attention.

Judge Calvin L. Noble from Paulding County, who earlier in his life, was a printer who founded a newspaper called the Cleaveland Advertiser. The word "Cleaveland" was just a bit too long to print on top of the page, so he took out the 'a'.
I knew of the original spelling, but wasn't sure why.
