Ok, I had to look it up. Girty's Island is 7 miles west of Napoleon, Ohio. I'm going to assume that is in Seneca County. Here's a link

Napoleon is the county seat of Henry County near the northwest corner of the state. Girty's Island is in the Maumee River, just outside the village of Florida, about halfway between Napoleon and Defiance. Anthony Wayne ordered the construction of Fort Defiance at the junction of the Maumee and Auglaize rivers that served the area during the battles with the Native Americans and until the War of 1812. Pretty boy floyd
Pretty boy floyd was killed between Rogers and East liverpool. Ther is a marker ther for anyone who wants to see it... He was killed after robbing a bank in Tiltonsville (about 40 miles south of E.L.) and being at-large for some time... FBI Agent Purvis and 2 local police officers shot him after he tried to flee from a farmer's car who was giving him a ride to the bus station...
