The fishing lure has been around since the caveman. They were first made out of bone and bronze. The Chinese and Egyptian were found to have used fishing rods, hooks, and lines as early as 2,000B.C. The first hooks were made out bronze which was strong but still very thin and less visible to the fish. The Chinese were the first to make fishing line, they spun it from fine silk. The modern fishing lure began being made commercially in the United States in the early 1900's. It was made by the firm of Heddon and Pflueger in Michigan. Before this time most of the fishing lures were made be individual craftsman. This new commercial made lures were made from the same ideas that the individual craftsmen were making just on a larger scale.

i found this under firast for akron, the pflueger co. was based in akron til the 60's

Brown County? They call it the little state fair.

Or Darke County? That one is pretty big as well.
