JohnZ,
I was born in Lima, and I lived there for 30 years. I would NOT suggest moving to Lima unless you like living in a high crime area. Check out the Lima news website at limanews.com Just a couple of days ago, someone died of a drive by shooting.
I would strongly suggest you move to either the Shawnee area, or Wapakoneta. My husband and I moved to Wapakoneta about 6 years ago. It has around 10,000 people and a quite lovely little town. There is a country club for golfing, a YMCA and a brand new aquatic faciility being built now that is due to open this summer. We have several parks and a historic downtown. The only movie theatre in town is the old opera house I believe, but it only costs 3 dollars for admission

(Just don't sit behind the poles) LOL The average housing cost here is 86,000 in town, but you can find a wonderful house for the price range you are looking at. If you like, you could even find a nice home in the coutry with some acreage. It is only 15 minutes away from the Shawnee area on County Rd. 25A.
Depending on where you want to go, most people I know fly out of Columbus. That is about an hour and a half away.
Here are a couple of links about the Wapakoneta area.
