Beer Cookie Recipe---Help (rittman?)
Okay, I know this is a obscure thread, but I am desperate!! There was a bar/grille in Rittman, or maybe doyelstown, barberton, not sure. Anyway, on the back of the check was a recipe for beer cookies. My mom is in love with the cookies, but the person that has the recipe is not sharing!! My mom has tried to coax it out of her friend kindly, but no go!
Has anyone heard of these or might lead me to the cookie recipe. I was hoping to surprise my mom when she comes for Christmas!
Thanks for any help you can offer

Dear "Family in a Frenzy,"
Okay, now I'm desperate! So much so, that I joined City-Data just to learn if this cookie recipe was finally found/shared/enjoyed. I had initially Googled for some beer cookie recipes, just for yucks. One of the hits was your post of December of '06; I was intrigued. Once I read that your mother loved the ones she had tasted, I headed into "desperate." This, probably because the first beer cookie recipe I read about had pretty sorry reviews, as in those who had tried the recipe were sorry they had done so. And I figured hey, if a mom likes them, they've gotta be good!
So, did your mother's friend finally unbend and give her the recipe? Did anyone answer your post? And in just which state are these cities (Rittman, Doyelstown, Barterton) where the fondly-remembered bar is possibly located?
Seriously, any help you can give is so very much appreciated. And if you'd like to mention any recipes I might be able to share with you, I'll do so gladly.
Much thanks!
Cookingmama

This recipe is from an old magazine clipping. The blurb is ; "The tang of beer adds an authentic Brazilian flavor to these shortbread-like cookies. The colored sprinkles make them as festive as New Year's Eve."
Brazilian Beer Cookies...
2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
1/4 cup beer
1/4 cup colored sugar sprinkles
1. Sift together 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. Cut in 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine. Add 1/4 cup beer (one tablespoon at a time) until dough takes on consistency of pie crust. Break off teaspoon-size pieces and roll into small balls. Flatten with bottom of small glass. Toss 1/4 cup colored sprinkles over the tops.
2. Place on lightly greased cookie pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Makes 2 dozen
Here's where I found it...

I hope that helps you! Have a nice holiday!

Hi Mlalonde!
I searched for the recipe, but can't seem to find it right now, but it's very similar to Helper's recipe. If I do find it, I'll post it. Enjoy!
