Default Moving to Lima, OH need advice

I currently live in Dearborn Heights, MI which is a suburb of Detroit. I just got a job at the tank plant in Lima and need to move ASAP.

I am trying to figure out what area to move to. My kids live in Dearborn Heights, MI so I am looking for an area that is between Lima and Detroit. I want an area that has low crime, decent schools and a lot of amenities such as movies, stores, etc. I was looking at Findlay but am worried that it may be too far from Lima for daily commute.

I also am in the process of a divorce and will be looking to date so a decent nightlife, etc is beneficial.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

I live in Toledo. I am not very familiar with Lima, other than, there is nothing there but the prisons.

In regards to the amenities that you stated, decent schools, low crime, etc. Findlay is your best bet, there is nothing else between Findlay and Lima.

As for a decent nightlife, non existent in that area.

I've known it to be done, but only at a high gas cost. People who do that end up moving closer to Lima. You're looking at 68 miles a day M-F.

For a larger town to live in, Findlay is pretty much your only resort. (but, 40miles x 2 x 5 days/week).

The NW side is very rural with very little going on. A lot of smaller farming communities... I do know of some good karaoke nights here and there, but overall very quiet nightlife with smaller bars. Bowling Green has the university/student night life. Toledo area would be the best option for a good night out, or maybe further south of Lima, but I don't know that area well enough. I sympathize with ya... have gotten accustomed to the Cleveland area (with PLENTY going on around town) since moving from MI last year, and now we're transferring to Bowling Green. The pace is a little different down that way - very relaxing, but rural.

I live in Lima, I'm in my early 20's and there is no nightlife! Have you ever been to Lima? I am counting the days until I leave and I am normally a very optimistic person. The other posts are correct, Findlay is your best bet. Hopefully you have a small car that will save you on gas.
