Default Quick thread: registering vehicle in Ohio

I just wanted to know how much are the registration fees to register a vehicle in Ohio and do you guys have to pay annual taxes on vehicles? Also, what is the waiting period to receive your tags after your car has been registered. At my current location, license plate are issued the same the same day along with the registration.

Here is a link to the Ohio BMV web site. It should provide you with accurate information to any questions you may have, including hours and locations of title offices and deputy registrars in your area.

Thanks for your service, Iraqvet! In addition to the link rrtechno provided, Ohio doesn't currently assess a property tax on motor vehicles. If you're interested, you can also get "Gulf War" or "veteran" (with your branch of service) OH plates at no extra charge. You'll have to order them, though. If you stay in the military long enough to retire, OH just this year decided to exempt retired pay from state income tax.
