You might also consider the Marysville area. Appears to have a very homey feeling to it. Expanding but not to the point that it's losing it's quaint feeling. Friendly people and approximate 30 minute drive to Dublin.

Marysville is doing great! Home to North America's Honda operations, and also home to the Honda Accord, and many Acura Models.

my future sister-in-law lived in marysville, and it is one of the few cities in Ohio that have not felt the burn of the economic downturn. and Travelers is right, very homey, very nice people.
and the school system, from what i've heard is actually very good.

Wicked thanks for the replies , aint long now things are moving on just this area confusion , we just want to go to the one researched area , and be happy (bit cliche`) but I believe im going out to Dublin next year so this would be an oppurtunity for me to browse round the areas i have fully researched , however , I still need to do the research as it could all look rosey , but like being there for say 1month things could turn , things i havent expected , ar well thats life , thanks again please comments are always appreciated thanks.

Omyers, the northern part of Columbus is the most heavily traveled. You really might like Dublin or Worthington (think restaurants, shopping). There are nice residential neighborhoods, plus more populated condo/apt. type neighborhoods. I'm sorry I can't answer your question about Westerville being dry.
My son lives in Powell which is growing like crazy. Delaware is also growing. It would be about a 20-30 minute commute. It has nice old homes and many new ones. There is a college there, Ohio Wesleyan, which has a nice campus. Delaware might give you a small town feel, yet you aren't far away from anything.
Good luck and welcome (in advance).
