Nuts - Yeah
We just moved OUT of Ohio in August of 2007 to Tennessee. We still can't get our house sold. We lived just north of Dayton. Business is bad. The taxes are high. We have 2 couples that are following us to Tennessee. Everyone has found work and are getting paid more than they did in Ohio and without the State taxes. Real estate taxes are half what we paid in Ohio.
You make the choice - I understand you're wanting to go back, but like everyone else said just make sure that you move to either Northern or Central Ohio. Good luck to you!!

We are still up in the air about alot of things; jobs, economy, etc. I have relatives in Tenn. and have been there many times (Lake City and Morristown). I love the south but I don't love their hot and humid summers. Been there during the summers and just about roasted alive lol. The heat and humidity in Cleveland use to do me in. What part of Tenn. did you settle in? And best of luck.

Tennessee is really an attractive state these days. A lot of Floridians moving in.

I just moved from AK (Air Force) to OH in Oct 2006 and I am looking to move again lol. I love OH but there isn't much here in the way of jobs. It took me 6 months to find a job and not a great one at that. The plus side is the cost of living and groceries are less money. If you rent, its way cheaper. I used to live at Admirals Cove but came here and I rent a house. Most places around here are also pet friendly. There is a smoking ban in Ohio, so be aware of that as well. (I don't smoke anyways).
I personally am considering IN or IL, close enough to visit on the weekends, far enough to get better jobs and housing.

Yep, they call 'em "Half Backs"! Northerners move down to Florida. They get fed up and move to places like Tennessee; Halfway Back to where they came from...

We moved to Boyds Creek which is south of Kodak and east of Sevierville (20 minutes from South Knoxville). My husband wanted Florida I wanted to stay in Ohio where I was born - so we compromised and moved to Tennessee. We are about an hour and a half from Morristown. I know it will be hotter here during the summer months, but hopefully spring and fall will make up for the hotter times during the summer. lol lol
Everyone is right people are moving to Tennessee by the droves from Florida and also from Michigan. We from Ohio love those Michigan people. lol lol We still love Ohio State and the Bengals, but now we also love orange and white and blue for the Titans.
I have heard the term halfback being used. In Tennessee people consider Ohio folks that are vacationing in Tennessee and then return to Ohio as Yankee's, but if you move to Tennessee and stay you are considered a dam Yankee.
If you are able to wait to move - do it after the presidential election. Things should slowly pick back up again in Ohio. They usually do.
Good luck and best wishes.

I was born in MT and finally escaped about 13 yrs ago. If people in OH are worse than in MT I'm in big trouble. I moved to NY and found that people out here are WAY nicer and more polite than in MT. I'm moving to OH in a few weeks for family reasons, was excited but now a bit nervous....

Let me ask you these few things... Where did you live in MT and how many years did you spend there as an adult ? What exactly was it that you were doing that made everyone treaded you so badly ? Where are you moving to in OH ?

I lived in the south central part of MT, grew up 45 miles outside of Bozeman, went to college at MSU there and moved away when I was 26. I don't think I "did" anything to make others treat me badly, thats just what happened to anyone who didn't think, dress or look like everyone else. I'm moving to Wooster, hopefully its diverse enough to allow individuality.
