I guess it depends on what you mean by conservative. If you mean republican, count me out..........i'm an independent, but registered dem. due to the make up of our area and only for primary elections.

If you are looking for social conservatives a you'll find a pretty high percentage of people in this area are. Since you are coming from Pittsburgh i'm sure you understand that.

As for fiscal conservatism, i think that most business owners in the area are republicans for this reason. You'll also find that many white collar types in the suburbs vote republican.

As for me i would rather be middle of the road and vote on issues, rather than vote along party lines. I think the dems have given too much power to the liberal left and both dems and republicans are being controlled by corporate america. IMO, both parties are essentially the same, they are both selling out the american people. At this point i vote for the person i think will screw me the least.

It's pretty sad when a 29 year old is this disenfranchised with the political process.

Very true, but I have never found a Democrat that feels the same about the issues that I do.

I am a union member, and a business owner.
I have never voted the way my union tells me to vote.
I have been a conservative all of my life. I don't believe that the Government can solve my problems. I believe in self reliance, and self responsibility.
I believe in individual rights.

I most certainly don't believe in Government healthcare. They have screwed up every other project that they got their hands on. I don't want them messing with my healthcare.

This area has been controlled by the Democrats for at least 50 years. What has it gotten us? Besides politicians in prison, nothing.

The Republicans know that they can't win here, so they don't even bother to try. The Democrats know that they have it sewn up, so they go where they aren't so sure. That leaves us out in the cold.

Traficant had a good idea when he was always the swing vote. Both sides courted him. That's how we got 24 million for the Chevy Centre. ( I wish they would have spelled center the right way.) Too bad he got greedy, and they eliminated him. ( I never voted for him.)

This area should vote Republican for a few years, and then switch it up. It would keep both sides on their toes and not take us for granted.

I can't stand liberalism. It is what has destroyed our Country. Good intentions don't pay the bills. Jim Quinn always says that liberalism leads to the exact opposite of its stated intent. I have seen that come true many times over.

Ohio has recently talked about dumping the State income tax. That's a good start, but it doesn't really matter what my tax rate is if my income is zero.
They should concentrate on lowering the corporate costs, to entice companies in locating here.

I heard Hillary say she was going to punish companies by raising their taxes. I have said many times over as a business owner. I DO NOT PAY TAXES. That is an expense that I pass on to my customers. So you see, liberalism generating the exact opposite of its stated intent.
