Question Ohio vs WV moving....

My wife will be attending a school in Waverly WV, which I have found is right on the border of WV and Ohio. Any advice on which side of the river to move too. Taxing and cost of living information would be appreciated.

My son lives south of Huntington & their taxes are really reasonable. I don't know anything about OH taxes (grew up there but was a LONG time ago) but WV is really reasonably priced tho gas MIGHT be a little less in OH. Housing is probably less in WV...I grew up telling "West Virginian jokes" but I LOVE it - have seen a lot of it in the last 4-5 years going back to see my son & his fam (his wife is from there). Of the OH side river towns my fav is Galipolis - that is an AWESOME town!!! You guys have it together there!!

Taxes and houseing is more expensive in WV! I know it seems like it would be the other way around. Do research on the wv housing market and you will see. A rundown house in Parkersberg will go for 80!

Moved here from Toledo, OH a little over a year ago. Marietta, OH is the place to be. Very quaint and family oriented. If you're into the bar scene, downtown on the weekends you will meet Marietta College students. If not, just know that Marietta is quiet and a very friendly.
