Here you go Traveler...........i took these pics last spring sometime. For those of you who don't know, Cortland is a small city just north of Warren. The population is around 6,800, and most residents (like my parents) are originally from Warren, Niles, and Howland.
BTW, most homes in the city were built after 1970, so i consider the ones downtown the coolest. These pictures were taken on N. High St. or Route 5 north of Main St.
Cortland does have a quaint little downtown and a few blocks of historic houses that i plan on taking pictures of sometime w/in the next few weeks.
Looks like most shots are taken in on Routes 5 and 46 in both Cortland and Bazetta Township. There is also a shot of downtown, but it's hard to make things out. I think the city looks a lot more charming in person. Warning! If you watch this video you might think Cortland is full of car dealerships!!!!!!!!!! haha!
Oh yeah, and there is also a quick shot of the Eastwood Mall sign in Howland Township.
I'm more of a city dweller, but I like old houses anywhere.
If I owned that white Italianate Victorian, I'd have to paint it. But, I'm not sure if the neighbors would appreciate the kind of colors it should have...
I love small towns and really enjoyed your pictures and the video tour. LOVE the old homes...reminds me of Waterville, OH where I grew up. Thanks for sharing!
I grew up in Warren and as a teen, had some great times in Cortland and Mosquito Lake - moved out of state a long time ago. Thanks for the pix and YouTube. It was good to see.
