For those who have gone and built their lives and fortunes elsewhere, good for you, come back here and live because you miss "family and friends", etc. However, for many young and talented people (and anyone else) who cannot seem to get their lives going here in NE OH, due to lack of certain types of jobs, then they have to go to where opportunity lies. They should not be begrudged (as I often see on this forum) for looking to expand their lives and embracing opportunity and change.
this is the honest to god truth. while i am sure my endorsement would make some of the people on the forum blow it off even more, i must make the endorsement because it expresses a point that is fundamentally true about the area minus the vitriol i am know for on this forum.

Default teaching jobs in ohio

I moved her 5 years ago from Maryland where I taught in a public school that always was looking for teachers. I thought it would be like that everywhere. WRONG! I have been teaching the last 5 years in different charter schools because the public schools are not hiring. In fact the district I live in has closed several schools because levys have not been passing for school money. There are several large universities in the columbus area that produce a lot of new teachers and when they graduate they are told to go to other states to apply for jobs because there aren't any here. Good luck.

I am a teacher around the Akron area - I was able to get a job just out of college. If you know where to look, you can find a job. There will be a LOT of applicants, just just have everything together when you go into interview.

I still get this email, as it is interesting where the jobs are. If you go to this link, click on "Join or leave JOBS-L", you will get emails daily about new job openings in Ohio. It has been very beneficial for me! They usually post them as soon as they come up - I think this may be better than the Ohio Department of Education website!

LISTSERV 15.5 - JOBS-L List at LISTSERV.NWOCA.ORG

Best of luck!
