Default The Hocking Hills Photo Thread

Dramamama6685 and I were in Hocking Hills for our 20th anniversary a few weeks ago and we took over 150 pics while we were there. We managed to get to every area there. If you have never been there it is worth the trip, this is the 6th time I have been there, the first time was in 1975.

These were from Cantwell Cliffs, you go through these stairs to get there.

There is a space of about 18" to 24" between two rocks called the "Fat Woman's Squeeze"

This is one of the cliffs, I took one pic from the entrance, then went on the ledge to the other side and took one the other direction.

Another cliff.

Default Rock House

These were taken at the Rock House, the only true cavern type cave, the others are all recess caves.

These were taken in Conkle's Hollow, the deepest gorge in Ohio, they recommend only experienced hikers attempt the upper rim trail which is narrow in places and a 200 foot drop straight down, but that is where the good pics come from.

The Upper and Lower Falls at the Old Man's Cave gorge.

If you come here do it when there is water in the creeks, they can go dry in July, August and September.

This is the actual cave itself.

A view from the top.

A concrete staircase bridge under the A-frame bridge going over the gorge.

Wow...those are amazing and breathtaking shots! You are quite a talented photographer and could do National Geographic justice! Of course, you had awseome subjects to work with!

I wish everyone who bashes Ohio could see these pictures! I lived there the first 25 years of my life and always enjoy an opportunity to brag about Ohio's versatility and beauty.

I enjoy photography too, and like to focus on old barns, churches, and covered bridges.

Those are awesome. Did you hear there is a new Zip-Line Canope Tour in Rockbridge? We can't wait to try it. Kids are free on Tues and Thurs.
