I recently moved out of Woodville, Ohio....just up Route 20 from Fremont...20 minute drive.

Upside: Small, well-policed town. Lots of houses for sale in varying price ranges. School district (Woodmore) is decent. Nice park. Excellent firework show every 7/4.

Downside: Traffic on 20 which is under construction for several more years between Woodville and Perrysburg. (IMO) Generally snooty older residents who ARE NOT friendly. You WILL wake up with limedust on everything everyday thanks to the Martin Marietta plant a mile away. Flooding problems for the lowlying residents near the Portage river. If you have a leadfoot DON'T move to Woodville, you'll spend your whole paycheck on speeding tickets.

Maverick,
LEt me suggest Oak Harbor, its a small community (aka Village) with very little crime, good schools with one of the best athletic fields around, quiet, clean, and all that good stuff you're likely looking for.

As for the Real Estate prices here... as with much of the country, prices have sluffed off a bit, due to national economic issues, and forclosure rates- like everywhere else.
most decent homes here run in the 100-200k range, with newer homes going higher. The median price range runs 150k 180k i'd say.

All this, and its only about 10 minutes from Fremont!

If that doesnt work for you, try clyde or green springs, maybe tiffin.

port clinton sucks, IMHO as mentioned before, its a one season town, and retail prices oftem reflect that. the schools are ok, i guess. overall though, its not an attractive place to live, not to mention that theres nothing to do in the winter, and traffic is too bad to do anything durring the summer!

Direct message me if you would like more information.
