Got to leave Canton (Columbus, Cleveland: to buy, school district, young professionals)

I am a teacher in Massillon, Ohio. I am trying to find somewhere else to move and teach. I am looking for somewhere with good schools, things nearby for 20-somethings to do, places nearby to buy a few acres and build, places to hike. I think I want to stay in Ohio. Canton is a nice place to raise a family, but for a single young woman trying to get out and meet people, it can be rough. Anyone have a city or town that they love and think I might love?

I would go to Columbus. That is the most rapidly growing metro area in Ohio. There are great schools in the suburbs of Columbus too, especially the Olentangy School District just north of Columbus in southern Delaware County.

Why not move to the Cleveland area? Its close to Canton for one and has lots of 20 somethings and young professionals like your self. The areas of Tremont, Ohio City, West Park, Shaker Square and suburbs of Lakewood, Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights seem to have the highest concentration of 20 somethings in Cuyahoga County. However if you want to build on a few acres there are places available, but outside of Cuyahoga county as its pretty much completely developed. Cleveland has the Warehouse district and E. 4th that are and are developing into great entertainment districts. Also Cuyahoga county has a great number of public and private schools to choose from.
