Do you consider Ohio "Midwest" or "Back East?"
The hubby and I were having a discussion about Ohio. We were both born and raised there but we've lived in Arizona for about 10 years now. So it's not like we've never been there. I've ALWAYS considered Ohio to be the Midwest but he says when we fly back there we are going "back east." Please tell me I'm right!!
ETA ~ Ok....haha, I just read the second page and I see there is another thread about this. I'll read that one!

The lower half is midwest. The upper half is northeastern.

How would you classify Columbus then? I would say that would be Midwest.

In California everything east of, say, the great plains, including the Midwest, was called "back east". It didnt mean the east coast
And no, from what I can see there is nothing east coast about Ohio. The flat parts are pretty much midwest, as midwest as Indiana.

Not from Ohio but just chiming in here. Everytime I've been to Ohio it seems like the Midwest until you get past Mansfield on I-71. Cleveland has always felt like the Northeast to me.

i consider it both. it's east (not indiana), but not east coast. cleveland feels like jersey, cincinnati looks old and east coast, but we all have an ohioan's mindset. ohio is ohio, i guess.
