Fremont, Ohio
Could someone please tell me about Fremont, Ohio? We may be moving there for my husband's new job.
I did some searches and it looks like a small town. This may sound off-beat/weird, but, are there a population of Asians there? And if not, do you think they'll be accepting?
Thank you!

There's a Fremont, OH thread you might be able to get some info from. The "search this forum" tool might pull up more, but as I mention in the above thread, I don't know of any who have a whole bunch to say about it.
As far as Asians go, I have not seen any in my travels. However, I rarely get into Fremont, and not 100% sure on who's up there versus the traditional people of German or Welsh decent.
Good luck on your research!

I am from Fremont and it is a pretty small town but it is the basically the hub for the county so there is usually something going on. It's also a pretty nice location, an hour and a half from Cleveland and Detroit, 45 minutes from Toledo and maybe 2 hours to Columbus.
And there are a few asians but I emphasize few, most that I have known seem to be of Filipino descent with Korean and Chinese tieing for second. The town is accepting from my experiences, it has a sizable portion of Hispanics and African Americans so it's not really white bred or anything.

Thank you!
Thank you both for your responses! I do feel a little better. I'm actually from Michigan area but always nave been real weary about moving to small towns...may be from my growing up here and the few that I ran into during my life that didn't like who I was! I will try the thread as well! Thank you very much!

I work in Fremont every day, have seen a sizeable portion of the area in the short time I've been working at this location (started here Apr 25). There is a very small Asian population that I have run into, but a large mix over all with different ethnic backgrounds. I would say is more diverse than the small town in MI I grew up in (just south of Lansing). Just a forewarning, though.... very rural community, NOT much going on!

Hi. I live in Fremont have been here for almost 10 years grew up in Houston TX. It was an adjustment at first but like it now. We are involved with a church and I think that can make a difference. We have formed some great friendships. People are friendly. Let me know if you have any spcific questions, would be glad to answer them. Also, have two homes for sale if interested ..both are nice.
