Question Things to do with small kids- Stark-Tuscarawas Cty?

Can anyone make some good recommendations about things to do with small kids between Stark (preferably) and Tuscarawas County? We have done the zoo thing- mainly Cleveland though- and looking for more ideas. Will do museum next weekend

Anyone know of a petting zoo or a local place that offers pony rides? What other ideas do you have?

I really wish Mother Goose Land was still around

What about Baylor Beach in Navarre? That place is a really good time.

Also, if Clays Park is still around there, that would be good.

Another Gem is Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia. They have lots of things for kids there

Are you going to the Massillon Museum? Massillon Museum | 330 833 4061

I don't think these are laid-back fun things for kids--like the water parks mentioned above. But I remember going to these places a number of times when I was a kid, and I remember having fun.

I don't know if they have a petting zoo, but you could try the Wilderness Center: Wilderness Center Preserve Hiking Trail Pictures Stark County

And finally, there is the Hale Farm and Village. Western Reserve Historical Society (http://www.wrhs.org/index.php/hale - broken link)

Default Things to do around Canton

There is a lot to do around Canton, especially this time of year! It's Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival Week. The Balloon Invitational (free) and Food Fest (carnival food - not free!) are Fri, Sat, Sun at Kent State/Stark State Campus. Fri is 5:30 lift-off, Sat and Sun both have 6 am and 5:30 pm. Ribs Burn-Off at the Fairgrounds (free adm - $5 parking + food you buy)Wed - Fri next week, with entertainment each night - 38 Special W, Joe Diffie T, Spin Doctors F(free to stand on the track - $8? for grandstand seating). Kick-off Parade is THIS Sun - 2:30 down Market Ave, and the Grand Parade is next Sat - 8 am down Cleveland Ave - go early!!! It's the 4th-largest parade in the country. Take some food and drink and have breakfast along the parade route. FirstPlay starts Thurs, then the Enshrinement at 6 pm on Aug 2, HOF Game Aug 3, Drum and Bugle Corps Competition Aug 4.

And I haven't even mentioned McKinley Museum and Monument, Canton Classic Car Museum, First Ladies Museum, Canton Garden Center, First Friday (downtown 6-9? - kids will love it) Aug 1, Farmer's Market (Sat morns til 11:30 downtown), Saturday Night Cruise-In - Massillon, Canal Boat Rides - Canal Fulton, Fan Tailgate Day for Kids Aug 3, 12-3 J Babe Stearn Center in Canton, Family Beach Party Aug 2, 1-5 at Massillon Rec Center - cost $5 each or $18/fam of four.

Lots more to list - another day

Have fun!!!
