loveland
I'm graduating college in May, and have started researching some areas where I'm thinking about applying for jobs. I have a son, so my boyfriend and I are hoping to find a nice town with good schools and such. He (my boyfriend) is also hoping to buy/build a house in a more rural area, as opposed to a developed neighborhood.
What can you all tell me about Loveland? From what I've been able to find it seems like a nice town, but of course the Tourism Authority is going to make it sound that way
And does anyone have any pictures of the town, like, Main Street, school grounds, anything like that? I'd love to have an idea of how the town is set up, what events look like (parades, festivals, etc), that kind of thing - but none of the sites that I can find have good pictures like that.
And finally, are there any colleges nearby? My boyfriend wants to go back and finish his degree once we get settled somewhere, so that's kind of an important piece.
Thanks in advance!
Becky
ETA: I'm also curious - does Loveland have a small-town feel? I love small towns.

Loveland is avery nice town, part of the town in Clermont County, and part in Hamilton County. The town is bordered by The Little Miami River, that has a really nice walking trail. Loveland also has I-275 running near town.

If you love small towns you will love SW Ohio. There are plenty of nice ones around here.
And yes, Loveland does have a small town feel, but its also a suburb..so you have the advantages of both city/suburbia, but in a small twon environment.

Is this the same Loveland?
Hi,
I hope I'm not misspeaking from the northern part of Cincinnati, but if you're asking about the Loveland that I know of, off of I-71.... well, I'm not sure that it meets your criteria (per below)

The Loveland I know of has been caught up in the most recent bout of urban sprawl. Farmland has been sold off to subdivisions, and the Kings exit is spaghetti junction nightmare for those who live there. My cousin bought a very nice home there, with Loveland as the mailing address, and her parents time their visits to avoid the rush hour commute. Honestly, to get to her home I drive through what appears to be four super parking lots, of every store imaginable, to get there. Loveland has become the most recent bedroom community serving the greater Cincinnati area.
Loveland is a nice place, with nice houses and a good school system, but I think of it more as "greater Cincinnati" than it's own stand, alone village.
I trust my fellow Cincinnatians to correct me if I'm wrong.

I lived in Loveland Ohio for the first 18 years of my life, right on the very frontier of the Miami Trails subdivision (Cedar Drive). In my honest opinion, rural Loveland is depressingly disappearing. I agree with WASTINA, sprawl has consumed most of the Loveland I remember as a child. If you're looking for undeveloped, Loveland probably isn't the place.

I lived on cedar drive for about 10 years - we have to know each other as there were only a few other houses on that street. I graduated in 1986 - are you still posting on this forum????

The Loveland mailing address encompasses a wide area, including about four or five surrounding townships. Some of the area is still rural, some is suburban development, and some is the city of Loveland proper. Loveland sits in three counties, which makes for interesting logistics. The part Wastina is talking about is far enough away from Loveland proper, which still maintains a small-town feel. Loveland has a very active historical museum, a summer concert series at a riverside park, the Little Miami Scenic Trail bike/hiking path, special events, etc.
Here's a link to the city's website, which has a lot of info: Loveland
If you want to be in a more rural area with a few acres, I'd suggest a few miles east in Goshen Township Clermont County, or Harlan Township Warren County.

I've lived in Loveland over 12 years now, everyone knows everyone, I know almost everyone now, its almost scary sometimes because you always say hello to everyone, or I do because i know them. I used to live in somerset kentucky, talk about small town (: . There one person cheering at the games for schools would make front page if done well (:
But loveland has a small town feel, its very odd but yet calming, we never really have any bad problems, I've not heard of many robberies nor anything bad really. Loveland Also has one of the best school districts around some say, and the high school chorale and show choir is amazing. I actually am In the concert choir (didn't try out for upper choir this year) and we are pretty good. The way that the town is, its just comforting sometimes, the kids walk around on saturdays, we aren't lazy (: and on school days most hang out at starbucks or this amazing coffe shop called The Buzz Thru . That is a popular hangout for alot of really talented children teens and adults. Everyone around here is so friendly (: You have your small areas of town, and such. Olde Loveland, also known as a part of the original downtown loveland is very cozy. You get a warm feeling, little coffe shops next to the sweet stop, or the other small stores around it (: They are more of boutiques and very small town like. I would suggest living here actually to anywhere else because its very small town like, safe, and a great place to start out (:. Good luck by the way (: Happy Graduation

When we have parades here, EVERYONE gets involved (: students are allowed to request to be in floats or even make their own, all teams and whatnot even our local bands here at the highschool are featured, as well as our mayor (: and other officials (: OH and the police haha, are actually not your defination most likely ! very friendly, and I actually have made friends with many of them (: i would suggest knowing Officer Barnes, also he helps at the middle school, where he scouts for sad kids to make them laugh and he shares his candy on halloween some, or atleast a few bags of it ! (: We are also home and School to the Amazing new uprising star Logan Sand, singer songwriter and musician (: I would suggest finding him (: I will try to take some pictures of any upcoming parade and post them here if you would like (: Hope you enjoy ! (:
