Planning on moving to Youngstown from Maryland
Hello,
I am looking to rent a home in the suburbs of Youngstown that is closest to Akron. I plan on attending the University of Akron and need to rent a house that allows one lab and a cat. The homes are very cheap around Youngstown, I have read threads that say to stay away from Youngstown, just hoping I can get some leads on cheap and safe places to rent in surrounding areas. Thanks so much!!

I'm all for people moving to the Youngstown area, but why not rent in Akron if you are going to school there??? Most of Northeast Ohio is very affordable. The Youngstown suburbs might be a little cheaper than the Akron suburbs, but it probably depends on which one you pick.

Hi
Thanks for the reply, I have a cat and a dog and the houses that are affordable around the college in Akron do not allow pets. I began researching Youngstown as I heard there is affordable housing there and the rent is even more affordable. I may buy a home in Youngstown or the suburbs as the homes are cheap and just commute to the college. I need to sell my house here first. Going to school full time I need very affordable rent as I will only be working part time. And again, the house needs to allow a cat and a dog. So I thought renting in the suburbs close to Akron would be a smart thing to do. Any leads will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Your commute from Austintown or the west side of Youngstown (the areas I'd suggest looking) would be about 45-50 minutes, according to Google maps. I'd suggest finding a neighborhood that has easy access to 680 (or I-80, if you live in the western part of Austintown) so you can get on the highway quickly.
My westside Youngstown neighborhood has very quick and easy access to 680. After pulling out of my driveway, it takes less than 5 minutes to be on the highway. From there, it's a straight shot to Akron.

hey thanks
Thanks for the reply, I will look into Austintown. I can deal with the commute, and like that it is a straight shot. Again, thanks a ton.
