Pickerington, Ohio (Picktown to the locals) has the highest property tax rate in metro Columbus area. It does have more of a rural feel than most of the Columbus suburbs. Lots of new homes being built, and new schools as well. There is at least one school property tax levy on the ballot each year or two. Located in Fairfield county, of which Lancaster, Ohio is the county seat. Population about 12,000 in the 2000 census.
