Exclamation PSA for Richmond Heights Folks: Your property taxes are going up Tuesday!

Well, Cuyahoga County is at it again. Despite the fact that this county has bled over a half million denizens in 5 years, is the poorest in Ohio, has the highest sales tax in Ohio and is one of the top counties in the nation being brought to it’s knees by the foreclosure crisis, Richmond Heights is hosting a secret election to hike y’alls property taxes!

If I’m not mistaken voters in this city killed a proposed property tax levy earlier this year because y’all couldn’t afford it. I guess Richmond City schools don’t give a flip about majority rule because they are going to try to pry that money out of you in spite of your obvious opposition. Instead of posting signs and publicizing this election that will effect ALL OF YOU, they’ve decided to just spread word amongst those who support the levy – isn’t that just a bit sneaky? No wonder the FBI is all over the County auditors office.

Election day for the secret levy is Tuesday August 5th, tell your neighbors, friends and family. Richmond City Schools need to suck it up, tighten their belts and make the best of the resources they have in these lean times, just like everybody else is doing!

So glad I don’t live in good ol’ CC anymore!

For reference: Plain Dealer Article

Look for this itty bitty line : Also on the ballot are tax requests from Richmond Heights and Fairport Harbor.
