Default Wanting to move to southern Ohio

I currently live in norther ohio and I am hoping to move to southern Ohio this summer. Can anyone give me an idea of the types of jobs that are out there and the best place to look. Does anyone recomend one place over another and why? I am from Kentucky and have family in both Kentucky and West Virginia so I thought southern Ohio would get me closer to being home and not so far away from the family in the northern part of Ohio and Mich. Thanks for the info

Try the Cincinnati area. Pretty close to the KY border and not half bad. Just stay away from the Dayton area if you are considering about a good job and a nice area to live. According the Dayton Daily News, Dayton has the 2nd highest unemployment rate in the whole country. Only second to Detroit. Also the Dayton area has the large % of people living under the poverty line for any large metropolitan area.

There are a lot of people in this area (Southwest Ohio) who have connections to Kentucky, West Virginia, and Tennessee. One reason I relocated to this area was to be close to kin in Kentucky.

Economically, the Cincinnati area is doing "OK" and the Dayton area is declining. You'd probably have a better luck finding work in the Cincy metro job market. There is a lot of cross commuting between the Cincy and Dayton suburbs, so maybe it could be looked at as one job market, depending on how far you want to travel.

In terms of jobs, the job market in Dayton is good for truck drivers, in the medical field, and food service.

The state of Ohio runs this website where you can research local labor markets....I recommend taking a look at this as a start.

A good place to locate would be Sabina which is located right off of I-71 in Beautiful Clinton County Ohio, Which is 1 county away from the river, its a nice area with nice schools, less than an hour from Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columubus, affordable housing, new sub-divisions planned down the road, close to shopping (less than 10 miles to walmart, kroger, all the restaunts, in the near future a kohls, and target*(they're both planned)*, good schools and very nice people who also have some roots in Kentucky, think about it, its a nice area to live.

Default Sabina??

We are actually considering moving to Sabina. Lived in MI our whole lives, after bad job market and losing our home to a fire, we moved to Western KY last summer. Well we all hate it and were considering Sabina last year. Hubbys been there delivering steel so he's somewhat (ok, very little, but it seems like the type of town we want to live in) familiar w/the town.
Any info would be appreciated. Looked at some websites but not a whole lot of info there.
Any clue about rental houses?? We've got a little girl and dogs so we'd need a fenced yard. We were actually really surprised how hard it was here in KY to find a rental that would allow us to have dogs inside (these guys survived the fire w/us, no way they're not coming w/us).
Thanks,
Michelle

The surrounding areas of Cincinnati are pretty good I have seen lots of expansion and development in the areas north of the route 275 loop.
Do avoid areas as Portsmouth which is 100 miles southeast of Portsmouth. Its dead and corrupt.
