chicky,
you missed the name chick a rantor get it?
anywho.... yes this is America and you dont have to vote,if you chose not to vote because of the electoral college then you have proved my point.
we all have reasons to vote but I see no reason why someone would choose not to vote,no vote no complain,
yes your vote does count and to say it doesn't is an excuse not to do your civic duty.
if you get your opinions from the TV or news papers then you dont know the true facts about the candidate.
look up their records in congress, what they stand for. I myself am a conservative who is more of a libertarian than a Republican.
McCain has a very liberal voting record Obama.......well he has no record to speak of.
so do your home work and then vote ,since this is your first time please educate yourself about the candidates records not what they say (like a chicken in every pot )
from what I see about Obama is bigger govt higher taxes and a socialistic state coming, but vote for who you think would be the best for our country but vote!!!

sigh... times like this...i feel distinctly like i am talking to big government.
obviously, my link didn't make it. that's okay. i can repost it. and then you can read it and then you can see what you stated about me receiving my information from a television is mote.
An Updated Analysis of the 2008 Presidential Candidates' Tax Plans: Updated September 12, 2008
and, please, before you reply...read my post in its entirety. at least return the compliment, as i read yours. i stated i plan on voting this year after properly educating myself. and i also stated that civic duty aside, what would it profit us for people who refuse to educate themselves to vote? you alluded to as much in your post. so on that point, we do agree.

You're probably right. Clinton came here back in the day and promised us something (don't remember what) and then totally forgot about us. Most of america has forgot about Youngstown and northeast Ohio as a whole. If anything is going to change we're going to have to do it ourselves. Things have started to change in Youngstown, but change is coming very slow.
Unfortunately, our government's trade policies don't help american manufacturers and manufacturing jobs are the only jobs that directly support four other jobs in the economy. Politicians in this country need to wake up and realize that soon we will make nothing here (besides phone calls). Not everyone is cut out for the business world and a bachelor's degree. Some people are just good at working w/their hands and they need jobs.
