Will Ohio ever get a casino? After "our voices" were heard ... I think it'll be a long time (if we ever do).

As it was so eloquently put on the local news tonight (don't ask me which channel....it's after 2:00 in the morning, and I'm still in here....???) - "The people have stated 3 times now..."No" means "NO!"
So I doubt it will become an issue again anytime soon. And if it does, I'm fairly certain the people of Ohio will yet again vote it down.

I agree. Personally, I am for it because all states around us were raping us. If we landed the Wilmington, why wouldn't an investor open up other locations throughout the state!?!?
Because some people voted no, because it wasn't near their city may have ruined it for the entire state for a long, long time.

it was shot-down 3-1 because it was only good for clinton county... like i said before, just let the individual city/counties vote locally on gambling.. imo that way only areas of the state that want gambling can have it and the areas of the state that dont want gambling can vote no...

The backers of the this OH casino deal did not put enough out there to help it pass. I voted yes - but I knew that it was going to be a long shot.

You said it, Daytonnatian! I'm all for gambling in our Great Buckeye! But not with Lyle Berman calling all the shots OR our constitution being modified.

Was an easy no vote.....
If we are going to have that type of gambling, at least structure the ballot question proper and make a vote for the principle of the thing. Not some scam deal with some particular operator.
Then set up some type of regulation scheme to negotiate each individual deal with the State of Ohio and the local communities. Giving the local communities the right to reject any deal.
Can't believe anybody would vote for it. Would you sign any contract written like that????? I would love to sell you a bridge over the Ohio. My rules of course.
