I think you are the only person on planet earth that has said this. I've never heard a statement like this, not even remotely close.
A lot of the people that have voted in this threads poll are people that don't live in either city, but have been to all 3C's. If you had to respond to their choice, what would you tell them?

Not to mention, if he was never impressed by Cincinnati, why come here " so many damn times"?

I understand the egocentric views toward your hometown... but Cinci people are ridiculous. Everywhere I go they think they are superior.. it's just a weird mix of people in general. Spread out? Yeah it's more spread out then Cinci because it's much larger. And you are probably going on the basis of some angles from pictures on here. Just look at this shot from above :
If you take away those 3 tallest buildings, you would essentially have cinci's skyline... except it's not in a freakin' hole

you used "egocentric" and (cleveland) "much larger" in the same dialogue. after the GAI building is up, cincy will only be a building away from making this a non-discussion. there are exactly TWO shots that incorporate the entire downtown well. the shot above, and a shot miles away on the eastside of the lake. glass house, my friend...

Haha whatever. I'm not even from Ohio. I have just resided here for a few years.
And I don't know what you disputing. Cleveland has a larger downtown. Larger buildings as well. GAI building would be 5th largest ( I believe) in Cleveland if built. Cinci has an alright downtown - it's just basically in a hole.
Aquila - why have I been there so many times?
Simple:
College 1st and foremost.
2nd, business. I have a thing called a job but lets not get into this silly debate. I'm not the only person to dislike the attitude of Cinci people.

I love this angle ... notice how the skyline is even cut off on the sides, but doesn't hurt its significance at all.

How did this turn into something about the attitude of Cincinnati people? I thought it was a discussion about which Ohio city has the best skyline.
Furthermore, you haven't even commented about your posting of a photo that shows Atlanta, while referring to it as Cleveland. And now to go one step further, you just referenced the new GAI building as being constructed in Cleveland, but it's actually going up in Cincinnati. Do you know enough about either city to make any sort of comment about one or the other?

you're not from ohio? simply lol
the GAI building will be the 3rd tallest in ohio, and may look as about as tall as the terminal tower.
and i'm not the only one who gets tired of the arrogance and patronizing perceptions that comes from up north. what's your point?
you keep saying "hole", but cincinnati was built in a basin. the ohio is a river. rivers have valleys. the particular basin in which cincinnati was settled is significantly lower than its immediate surroundings. basins are flattened lowlands created by inland water and surrounded by higher elevation, thus continually maintaining the soil as a) flooded, or b) stationary. the city of cincinnati was built within this basin, and what you see is what's left after they built the highways and tore up the ghetto. because of the age of cincinnati's boom (1820-1900) and the nature of the topography, it didn't make sense to plan out any more square mileage than they had to. even today it doesn't make any damn sense, and probably less than it did then.
downtown cleveland is downtown st. louis with 3 taller buildings and a lakefront as opposed to a river. both have an urban fabric of tall highrises (15-25 stories). both have an unnecessary amount of space wasted in their development, not decline. both have ok nightlife for the condition the cities are in, but for the most part are shockingly dead, day and night.

IMO, even with the new building in Cincinnati, the skyline to me just doesnt beat Clevelands. If Cincinnatis skyline spread across more area and had at least a few skyscrapers, it might be comparable, but not until then. I think the lake also adds something and more angles for Cleveland, and Cincinnati will never have that. But its really about personal opinion and taste.

No doubt about that ...
Cleveland 21 29.17%
Columbus 10 13.89%
Cincinnati 30 41.67%
Other 11 15.28%

i think cleveland has the appearance of "gaps" in the skyline because of the 3 really tall buildings. what you dont notice is the denser building views between the taller buildings unless you are actually downtown. and clevelands downtown is larger/longer linear-wise compared to cinci.
