Default Thinking About Moving to Ohio

Hi. I am curently living In Charleston, South Carolina and I am thinking about moving to near Cleveland Ohio. I have a lot of Family in Brunswick, Strongsville, North Royolton area. I was wondering what is the job market like there? I am having a hard time finding one here in Charleston and i am sick of the dreadful summers.

What field are you looking into? The old economy jobs(Manufacturing) are tough to find, but there are other healthier fields in the area.

I am in the staffing industry, and I would say that Cleveland is a decent job market, not the best but there are a lot worse. The difference you will see (other than the weather!) will be that Charleston is a growing area, while Cleveland is not really growing at all.

I was looking at a house in Maple Heights online. Almost right around the corner from were my grandfather grew up. I think that would be cool if I can get it, but I need to find a job first. The bad thing I think about Charleston as far as jobs go is tourism is realy big here so most of the jobs are seasonal, and thats what happond to my last job. I was workning At a local island golf resort and almost right after halloween everything just goes dead. And Charleston is defently growing. I have lived here most of my life and every year it seams like traffic is getting worse and worse, and yet the roads stay the same. I think the last time Charleston had a growth spurt is in the '70s they made the roads bigger to the point that the buildings are right on the sidewalks if they make them even bigger the buildings will be in the middle of the road.

I left the area you are going to 5 years ago. I enjoy going back to visit all my family for three or four days every few months. I'm here in SC and not thinking of going back except for short visits. The cost of living in that dreary area is much higher than most places in SC, the weather is terrible most of the year,,,,,, I wish you the best.
