YES...the forums are for DISCUSSION. Not to be cluttered up with advertisements and other spam. There is a forum for ads on City-Data. People who post ads in the forums for DISCUSSION are as despicable as the vermin who litter the swale areas and other public property with those ugly and illegal push-into-the-ground or nail-to-a-telephone-pole signs. Just my humble opinion...  |

Quite humble. Certainly since I was not aware there was an "ads" section on this site. And way to get your point across with those CAPS. That really put it in my face. I tend to be really picky about advertisements and spam, but if you're offering a legitimate job, that's another story. The economy is so poor, especially around these parts. I don't happen to need a job, but unfortunately, many do.
That being said, it's not my forum and I'm not maintaining it, so I guess the owners get to decide. You asked for opinions, though, so that is mine.  |

Not a good idea coming into a new site with your attitude. Whether or not the members of this site think it should be against the rules of the forum is immaterial. If you were disciplined for it, there was a reason. Did you read the rules when you signed up? The members don't make those up, nor do we get a say in them. Did they not specifically state " The owners of City-Data Forum reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason"...? Did not the TOS state there was an appropriate place for ads? And did they not go on, in the very same paragraph, to state "No ads of any sort in other forums"....? |

A job is a job! and with the way things are today this could have benefitted several people and including the Employer. All the lastest trend on applying for employment advise "word of mouth". Some thing should not be BLOWN-UP and made into a BIG DEAL!! I loved your attitude and the thing that anyone can do it BLOG and not give you a WHOOPIN LOL
