hillside and cinci-rise,, you guys are tough. lol . i never forget ky and ind as part of the great cinci metro.. im reminded everytime i see " florence y-all " on I.75.. please correct me if im wrong but are cinci msa and csa's now listed as 2.1 mil ? and i believe that includes 15 counties in S.W.Ohio,ind and ky? cleveland msa is 2 mil. (5 counties) and the csa is 2.9 mil. (7 counties). N.E.Ohio is 4.5 mil (13 counties). is it not true that even if you combined the dayton metro with cinci's 15 current counties the population would be 3 mil. more or less ? just curious because depending on how you look at it, figures can very. however both metros are very large and developed compared to most cities ! just because populations have shifted west and south does not mean cinci and cleve have physically shrunk . ie.- columbus largest city ? only because more population within its city limit.. misleading to others because we know you can put 3 cbus metros inside of cinci or cleveland.

^ 1watertiger, your argument is pointless ...
1) You do not understand how an MSA is formed ... &
2) You didn't provide county land area for each county counted.
I can have 1 county and it will have 2,000 sq. mi. or I can't have 10 counties and they are 2,000 sq. mi. Understand?

Looking at the pop map, I think we could do better with rail transit in NE and SW Ohio?

Well hell, we might as well link in with Indy's MSA too, since Hamilton, OH & Harrison, OH is in our MSA. We're starting to get real close! lol
Point is, read the census definition(s) because it will definitely come up again in the future. If you have a problem with their requirements, then I'd send an email the US Census ... not complain about it here.

OMG! I only brought it up because Hillside said, "northern kentucky or se indiana isn't on that map." I took his comment to mean he was complaining that they weren't included. Is that right? Basically i was making a smartass comment!
I'm not complaining about Census requirements and i don't know how you even thought that.

^ Hillside brought that up because they are in our MSA. NOKY was made up of old dense German & Italian neighborhoods that shouldn't be left off an aerial map. I'm sorry then! lol ... You're on UrbanOhio, aren't you?
