What are best and worst cities/metros for African-Americans In Ohio: Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Columbus?
Of Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Columbus, what are Ohio's best and worst cities for professional and blue collar African-Americans? Additionally, African-Americans, what are your experiences in these three cities/metropolitan areas?

1.) Place can on table.
2.) Unscrew cap.
3.) Observe worms spilling out of can onto table.

columbus is probably the best. cap city is growing pretty fast, it the most jobs, blue and white, and is unbelievably tolerant and diverse to someone who's never been. columbus has the 2nd largest african population (nyc 1st) in america, and also has large asian, indian and middle eastern populations. i've lived in columbus for a while, and it seems to be as tolerant and carefree as any city i've been to.
cleveland is a mixed bag. it's a liberal city, but a union-type of liberal. change is long coming in cleveland, even though whites and blacks work together openly in the city. the problem is, whites and blacks don't live together much in cleveland unless it's an interracial family. the job market is sour, and doesn't look to be improving. if the white collar you're looking for is medicine or bioscience, cleveland is the best bet in ohio. the cleveland clinic and all of the money cleveland is investing in those industries is paying off big.
cincinnati is the least tolerant of the three. there's an old-money/corporate money circle made up of old white men that run cincinnati with an iron fist, despite the city's black population just under 50%. in fairness, cincinnati is in a unique spot, being the only major northern city on the mason-dixie. st. louis, baltimore, and d.c. historically have been racially tense and somewhat jim crow, but cincinnati gets the most flack because it's in ohio. still, cincinnati has a ways to go in not only race relations, but jobs. the white collar economy isn't bad, but the blue definitely is. this isn't to say that there aren't middle class black neighborhoods and cities, and that you can't do whatever you want with your life, but race is a little touchy in cincinnati right now.

To change the subject for a minute, I must be missing something. Do you mean Africans as in immigrants that have recently moved here from Africa?
That must be it because Columbus is nowhere close to the 2nd largest African-American population. List of U.S. metropolitan areas with large African-American populations - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As you can see, Columbus is 35th right after Cincinnati, nowhere near 2nd. Excuse me, but I just wanted to get that straight.

You noticed? Gee, I was starting to feel neglected and ignored.
I just thought it would be fun to sit back and watch the show in this thread. LOL!

if your looking to live in the metro with the largest black population in ohio (cleveland has over 200,000 and the metro over 400,000). i cannot comment on what living here would be like for you because im white. however i can say, the metro is one of the most segragated areas in the nation for whatever/many reasons.

there is something false in what i said. columbus has the 2nd largest somali population in america. not sure on the total number of africans, but there seems to be a lot of ethiopians and eritreans as well. my apologies.
